Lighting Designer
- Work with Artistic Director to get a clear understanding of the concept of the production
- Familiar with stage layout and fly grid for the performance venue
- Communicate with DSL Technical Director concerning technical needs
- Communicate with Master Carpenter and Set Designer concerning lighting needs for the set and its position on the stage
- Communicate with Paint Coordinator concerning the chosen color palette for set
- Communicate with Costume Designer concerning the chosen color palette for costumes
- Work within show budget as presented by the producer and approved by the Board
- Available or make arrangements for lighting crew to be available for load in, production week rehearsals, and strike
- Responsible for arrangements (providing and retrieving) for any materials loaned from other sources for the production
- Work with Stage Manager and performance venue light board operator to create lighting cues
- Create designs that can be built within the budget provided by producer
